Complaints and Takedown Policy
Version 1.0 — effective 16 October 2026
This policy explains how to report content, how to complain, and how we act. It's designed to meet our duties as a user-to-user service under the Online Safety Act 2023 and general consumer-complaint good practice. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions.
Operator: Noticed Sites, Pepys Court, Prestwood, Buckinghamshire, HP16 0QP, UK · support@noticedsites.com
1. What you can report
- Illegal content: for example terrorism content, child sexual abuse material, threats, harassment, fraud, hate offences, or intimate image abuse.
- Content that breaks our rules: misleading screenshots, unsafe or malicious websites, profane or abusive content, impersonation, false credits.
- Intellectual property infringement: copyright, trade mark, or your website being submitted without permission.
- Vote manipulation.
- Privacy concerns: for example, being credited without consent.
2. How to report
- Use the Report button on any site page, profile, collection or media item. You don't need an account for illegal-content reports.
- Or email support@noticedsites.com with:
- the URL
- what the problem is
- your contact details (optional for illegal-content reports)
- for IP complaints: the work you own, evidence of ownership, and a statement that the report is accurate and made in good faith
If someone is at immediate risk, contact the police (999). Child sexual abuse material can also be reported to the Internet Watch Foundation (iwf.org.uk).
3. What we do
| Step | Target time |
|---|---|
| Acknowledge your report | Within 1 working day (automatic where possible) |
| Suspected illegal content: assess and, if it's illegal, remove it or restrict access | Swiftly, normally within 24 hours of becoming aware |
| Other rule breaches and IP complaints: review and decide | Within 5 working days |
| Tell you the outcome (where we have your contact details) | When the decision is made |
Possible actions:
- no action
- editing or removing content
- taking down a submission (its page then shows a "gone" notice, and its awards and badges are revoked)
- restricting features
- suspending or banning accounts
- reporting to the relevant authorities where the law requires it
Removals under this policy don't lead to refunds (see Terms, clause 6).
4. If your content is reported
Where it's appropriate and safe, we'll tell you what was reported, what we've decided and why, and how to appeal. For IP complaints, we may pass your contact details to the complainant if you dispute the complaint, but only with your consent or where the law requires it.
5. Appeals
You can appeal any decision about your content, account, votes or awards within 28 days. Email support@noticedsites.com with "Appeal" in the subject line.
Appeals are reviewed by someone who wasn't involved in the original decision where possible, and we aim to respond within 10 working days. If we got it wrong, we'll restore the content (and, where possible, the results).
6. General complaints
For complaints about our service, payments or this policy, email support@noticedsites.com. We aim to resolve complaints within 14 days. If you're a consumer and still unhappy, you can seek independent advice, for example from Citizens Advice (0808 223 1133).
7. Records and review
We keep records of reports, decisions and appeals, and use them to review our illegal content risk assessment at least once a year.
