Badge and Brand Usage Terms
Version 1.0 — effective 16 October 2026
These terms govern the use of Noticed Sites award badges, embeds (including the @noticedsites/badge npm package and the /badge.js script), images, certificates, share images and the Noticed name and N. mark (together, "Noticed Brand Assets"). They form part of our Terms and Conditions.
1. Licence
If your website has won a Noticed award, or is a current or past nominee, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, royalty-free licence to display the matching badge, certificate and share images. You may use them on that website, on your portfolio, in case studies, on social media and in press materials, only to accurately describe that award.
2. Rules
You must:
- (a) only show badges for awards that the specific website has genuinely won and that haven't been revoked
- (b) use the official badge code or files from your dashboard, without changing the design, colours, wording or proportions (you may choose the variant, theme, size and position we offer)
- (c) keep the badge's link to the website's Noticed page
- (d) not suggest that Noticed endorses you, your products or your clients beyond the award itself
- (e) not use Noticed Brand Assets in your own logo, product name, domain name or advertising keywords
- (f) not place badges on websites other than the awarded one (other than portfolio or case-study pages describing it)
3. Technical terms
- The badge script and package are provided "as is". The npm package is open source under the MIT licence, which governs the code. These terms govern the use of the brand and award marks.
- Badges set no cookies and don't track your visitors. We count aggregated impressions and clicks only.
- We may check whether a badge is installed using an opt-in crawler (
NoticedBadgeCheck/1.0), which respects robots.txt.
4. Revocation
If an award is revoked, or a site is removed, its badge, certificate and share images stop displaying and verifying automatically. You must remove any copies you've downloaded or published. We may withdraw this licence if these terms are broken.
5. Certificates
Certificates carry a verification code at noticedsites.com/verify/…. Altering a certificate, or presenting a revoked one, is prohibited.
6. Press and other uses
For any other use of the Noticed name or N. mark, email support@noticedsites.com.
