Submitting

Do I need to make screenshots?+

No. When you reach the Media step we capture a 1440×900 desktop and a 390×844 (2×) mobile screenshot of your live site automatically. Prefer your own? Use Replace on either. Every image is optimised to WebP/AVIF.

Can I add a video?+

Yes: MP4, WebM or MOV, up to 30 seconds and 100 MB. We optimise it to WebM and MP4 (up to 1080p, metadata removed) with a poster frame; only the optimised files are shown.

What can I submit?+

Any live website you made, or a client's site with their permission. Websites only — not apps or templates.

How often can a domain be submitted?+

Once every two months.

When does my site go live?+

The moment your payment clears and checks pass. Your 72-hour voting window opens straight away, and Site of the Day is announced at 08:00 UK the morning after your window closes.

Payment

Can I use a discount code?+

Yes. If you have a Noticed Sites discount code, enter it at the payment step. We check it on our side and show the original price, the discount and your new total before you pay. Codes can expire or have a usage limit. A 100% code publishes your site with no payment needed.

How much is it?+

£9.99 per site (launch offer). No VAT, no tiers, no upsells.

Can I get a refund?+

No. The service starts immediately and checks run before you pay, so there are no surprises. If a technical fault on our side stops your site being published, we'll put it right.

How can I pay?+

Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link and cards via Stripe. Organisations can save cards for their team.

Voting

Who can vote?+

Anyone with a verified account aged 16+. Owners and credited people can't vote on their own work.

Can I change my score?+

Yes, for 72 hours after you vote or until the window closes.

Scores

Why is my score different from the average?+

We trim outliers and apply Bayesian smoothing toward the global mean until a site has enough votes.

What's an effective vote?+

Votes are weighted by voter trust: new accounts count for a little less.

What happens to suspicious votes?+

Votes our systems flag as suspicious are excluded from every score automatically, both the 72-hour score and the period scores. Awards are always picked from the remaining clean votes and publish on schedule. There is no manual hold.

Speed

Does speed affect my score?+

No. PageSpeed results are shown on the site page and decide the Developer Award only.

How do I win the Developer Award?+

How it’s earned: mobile Lighthouse 90+ in all four categories (Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, SEO), desktop Performance 95+, Core Web Vitals not failed, and the Honourable Mention score bar (6.50+ with 15+ effective votes). Each month the qualifying site with the highest mobile Performance also wins the Developer Award of the Month, picked automatically on the 1st.

What is the WCAG chip?+

We also run one automated accessibility check with axe-core against WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 rules (levels A, AA and AAA) and show the result as, for example, “WCAG AA · no automated issues” or “WCAG A · 3 issues”. Automated checks catch only part of WCAG, so this is never a claim of compliance, and it never counts towards scores or awards.

What is the security grade?+

When you submit, we run one free Mozilla HTTP Observatory scan of your site's security headers (one scan per submission, retried only if it fails). We show the grade (A+ to F), the score and how many tests passed. It is shown for information only and never counts towards scores or awards.

Badges

Do badges slow my site down?+

No. ≤ 4 KB, async, zero layout shift, no cookies.

Account

How do I sign in?+

With your email address and a password (at least 10 characters). There are no social logins. Verify your email from the link we send at sign-up to become a Verified voter.

I've forgotten my password+

Use 'Forgotten your password?' on the sign-in page and we'll email you a reset link. You can change your password any time in Settings.

How do I delete my account?+

Settings → Export or delete my data. Your votes are anonymised; payment records are kept as the law requires.
